How To Sauna The Best Way

Although there is no one correct way to take a sauna bath, there are a few tried and true methods that people often engage in to make their experience as relaxing and beneficial as possible. Being in the right peaceful state of mind also greatly facilitates and helps with these practices.

The first thing you have to consider is the setting of the sauna that you're using. If you're at the gym or the community spa, you'd have to be open to the fact that a public sauna can have several people at any given one time. Because of the nature of the sauna and its calming effects, people often feel comfortable enough to completely strip into the nude and lie around in this state. In some instances, they will have a towel covering important parts of their body but it is certainly not necessary. If you are too uncomfortable with the prospect of being around nude bodies and simultaneously exposing your own, then it may be better to go at a time when it isn't as congested. Another option is to invest in a private home sauna.

Once you figure out which kind of environment you would like to experience your sauna in, you can go on to the more specific methods regarding the the sauna bath itself. Gather a small towel, a moisturizing lotion, a water bottle and a bathrobe to wear while cooling down. Bring these affects with you into the room and then turn on a timer that will automatically heat the coals or stones. The moment it gets too dry, you can add moisture into the air by pouring some water over the coals until it generates some billowy clouds of steam. Find a comfortable spot and sit back for a few minutes to let the heat permeate your body and open up your pores.

All things said, it is important that you do things in moderation. Be careful of how long you stay in the sauna. Although everyone is different and your individual body will offer you the clearest answer, it's wise to stay just long enough to feel the tranquil effects. Depending on the temperature of the room, you may end up overheating or getting dehydrated. To avoid getting dizzy, you can take a breather outside and cool down for a few minutes. Drink some water and then come back in if you want to continue to bathe.

Now that you've learned how to sauna, you can go out and take a trip to your nearest sauna room!
